Architectural Metalformers Ltd created the splayed tray roof for the Auckland Vodafone head office on Auckland's Viaduct.
From early consultation with the owner developers we worked closely with Jasmax Architects to develop and advice on the best method of achieving the desired result.
This project is synonymous with old style craftsmanship and modern architectural style.
Project specifics
The design of the roof structure presented our Architectural Metalformers Ltd technical team with a challenge.
To create a splayed curved roof that spanned 14 metres at its longest tray.
This result was achieved by using a joining process especially developed by our in-house technical team.
Early input
Like all projects undertaken by Architectural Metalformers Ltd design issues were discussed with the owner and architectural team to maximise the owners' vision for this project.
Working alongside the Architectural department our technical team consulted extensively to finalise plans.

Breaking new ground
Using the specially designed joining process this splayed roof created an iconic modern architectural statement not seen before in Auckland.
In keeping with the viaducts architectural style this unique building is destined to become an Auckland landmark.
